We’re excited to spotlight Kimberly Gerlarneau, Site Director of Ready Set Connect Manchester! For the past three years, Kim has brought warmth, energy, and a deep sense of community to her center. Known for her positivity, strong relationships, and genuine love for her work, Kim has helped shape Manchester into a nurturing and supportive environment where children, families, and staff thrive.
A proud New Hampshire native from the Lakes Region, Kim brings her love of adventure, family, and connection into everything she does — whether she’s supporting her team, cheering on her clients, or sharing her passion for boating, four-wheeling, yoga, and live music. Her joyful spirit shines especially bright during her favorite time of year: Christmas (which she starts decorating for the second the clock strikes midnight on November 1st!).
We’re so lucky to have Kim leading our Manchester community. Get to know her below!
1. Can you share a little about your background and what brought you to Ready Set Connect?
Ready Set Connect was my very first job after I graduated college! I attended Franklin Pierce University and towards the end of senior year there was a job fair at which RSC had a table. I took a pamphlet, set up an interview, and started as an ABA Therapist at our Concord location one week after graduation. While at school, I majored in psychology and loved taking classes centered around child and adolescent development. I was the secretary of our university’s Psi Chi chapter and attended multiple New Hampshire Psychological Association conferences where I was able to present my research including my senior thesis. When I wasn’t in my own classes, I could often be found working as a TA for composition courses & private tutoring for psychology and history courses. All of my experiences at FPU helped prepare me for my role as a Site Director here at RSC, which I eagerly applied for about 3 years ago & have been in Manchester ever since!
2. What inspired you to work with children on the autism spectrum?
My inspiration to work with children on the autism spectrum grew from my early experiences working as a counselor at my local recreation center and the Boys & Girls Club, where I discovered how rewarding it was to connect with the kids and support their growth. I loved seeing the impact that patience, consistency, and encouragement could have on their confidence and skills. When I began working at RSC 6.5 years ago, that passion deepened into what felt like a true calling. Every child teaches me something new – about communication, resilience, and perspective. Having a front row seat to their progress, celebrating their successes, and helping families feel supported continues to motivate me every day.
3. What does a typical day look like for you as a Site Director?
As a Site Director, no two days are ever exactly the same – but that is part of what makes the role so rewarding! My responsibilities encompass overseeing a team of 30+ staff, managing everyone’s schedules, and ensuring that each child’s individualized needs are being met. Much of my day involves supporting staff – whether that’s through supervision, problem-solving, or providing on-going guidance. I also serve as the main point of contact for families and school districts, maintaining consistent and transparent communication to ensure collaboration and progress for each client. While the days are often unpredictable, they’re incredibly fulfilling. I love being in a position where I can support my team and help create an environment where both staff and clients can thrive!
4. What do you love most about your role and the RSC community?
What I love most about my role and the RSC community is the strong sense of connection and collaboration we share. One of my favorite parts of my job is building meaningful relationships with our clients’ families. I truly believe that open communication and teamwork between providers and families are essential for a child’s success, and I love being a part of that process. At RSC, there is a genuine sense of community – everyone is committed to the same goal of helping our clients reach their fullest potential.
5. What’s one thing you want every parent to know about Ready Set Connect?
One thing I want every parent to know about Ready Set Connect is that we truly see and value each child as an individual. Our team is deeply committed to creating a supportive environment where children, families, and our staff can all work towards shared goals. Parents can feel confident knowing that we’re not only focused on their child’s progress in sessions, but also on how that growth carries over into everyday life.
